The Carneddau mountain range in the Snowdonia national park is the largest area above 3000ft anywhere south of the Scottish highlands. It has a broad high ridge nearly seven miles long. It is remote and wild and is a fantastic place to walk. This area is a lot quieter than the Snowdon or Glyders mountain ranges across the valley from here. I had spent a very cold night wild camping on the tops and a very early start to capture this image.
